Why Oil Burners Fail Differently Than Gas

Gas systems tend to fail at the ignitor or the flame sensor. Oil fails at the fuel train. Nozzles clog and change spray pattern, electrodes drift out of spec, filters load up, and pumps lose prime after a tank runs low. Sludge off the bottom of a tank will take out a nozzle and a filter in the same week. Oil work rewards experience more than most trades.

We repair and maintain steam as well as hot water baseboard and radiant, and we know when a steam problem is actually a piping problem. Cast iron boilers can run 30 years or more, so we give you the combustion numbers and the fuel math before you decide whether to repair or replace.
